Calendar difference vs. total days
A date difference can be expressed in two useful ways. Calendar difference answers in years, months and days, while exact duration answers in a fixed number of calendar days. DateTimeWise shows both so you do not have to choose one interpretation.
For example, “1 month” does not always equal the same number of days. February, April and July all have different lengths, so calendar math and fixed-day math naturally produce different-looking answers.
When to use this tool
It is useful for age-like spans, contract periods, anniversaries, project phases and any comparison where “years, months and days” is easier to understand than a large day count. If you only need a day counter, use Days Between Dates.
How month-end differences are calculated
This calculator first counts complete calendar years. It then counts up to eleven complete months from that year-adjusted starting date, followed by the remaining calendar days. When the original day does not exist in a target month, it uses that month's last day. Month candidates always use the same anchor, so passing through February does not permanently change the day used for March.

Different systems can use different month-end conventions. Use total days when you need a fixed calendar-day interval, and state the convention when sharing a years-months-days result.
